I am using NEC Optiarc DVD RW AD-7173A and the label of the DVDs is taiyo yuden.I burned some dvds with it and whenever I try to read them the following message is displayed:windows cannot read from this disc. The disc might be corrupted,or it could be using a format that is not compatible with windows
Although, when I read them with a samsung dvd rom everything goes alright.I have also done a firmware upgrade to my nec dvd rw

Play around a bit: try the drive in another PC; try different recordable DVD media (TDK and Verbatim preferred); try burning the DVD's with another drive and then put them into the NEC. (Taiyo Yuden media is one the best - see http://digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm - so it cannot be faulty, unless you ran it a factory fucked up batch.)

Do you believe that there may be a problem in compatibility with taiyo?

Anything can happen, however unlikely; that's why you need to try all variations, as I wrote...

I also tried Smartbuy label and the same thing happens..
Do you think I should keep trying different types such as Verbatim and TDK?
