Sims 2 expansion

I did the 2 cd to dvd conversion for The Sims Nightlife and installed it succesfully next to The sims original but now I cant seem to start Sims 2 anymore only Nightlife expansion. If I click on the desktop shortcut to run Sims 2 original then the splashscreen pops up for a second, shuts down and it switch to Nightlife splash and runs Nightlife instead of Sims 2.

If I deinstall Nightlife, The Sims 2 is working again, but as long I have Nightlife installed, It wont. Is this normal behaviour? When I install other expansions next to Sims 2 (like universaty or open for business) I am able to execute both Sims 2 as the expansion.

Has anyone experienced this?

ofcourse it is normal that u can only play nightlife. u must always use the game u've installed that came out last. But your 'sims2' will not be gone. U just added some stuff so u need the last game because it can't work if u hit the sims2 thingy. U must always play nightlife or the last expension u installed that came after nightlife
