*Tested with French version.

Make with ultra iso an iso file from your Original DVD9.
Open their with ultra iso and remove the full "Data\Paks" folder
(Paks= 3.65 Gb)
Save the file as iso DVD1 with original CD label *"Silverfall" and close ultraiso.

Now reopen the iso file from your Original DVD9 with ultra iso and extract the "Data\Paks" folder to a temp folder, its important to keep only the content from paks folder, is it the "sub" "data" directorie & theyr content. Ad to the temp folder a sub directorie called crack and place in their, the *ACTUAL update with respective cracks.
burn the temp folder as data DVD.
Content from dvd 2 is:
Data\Design\
Data\design.pak
Data\gfx.pak
Data\shader.pak
Crack\updates

Install process
install DVD one as usual, after install, insert DVD2, copie the data folder to game folder, overwrite originals [yes], open crack folder from dvd2 run the update copie crack and play.

* Edited modification
Have fun.

@dede
Save the file as iso DVD1 with original CD label

I dont have the game but what is the original label to be used as the DVD5 labels please?

Also,

and place in their, the update 1.11 & 1.12
Are both updates needed? Are they only incremental updates? Isnt 1.12 a 'full' update?

Also
with respective cracks 1.11 & 1.12
Are both NoCD cracks really necessary? Wouldnt you just be able to use the 1.12 NoCD crack once you have installed both updates?
Or are different files needed from both NoCD cracks?

As I said I dont have the game but just want the conversion to be easily understood. ;)

Thanks again for the detailed explanations. :)

EDIT: original label would be "Silverfall" :P And patches v1.11 and v1.12 are only for the french version.
BTW: I have only one question: if the contents of DVD2 is to be copied into the installation folder (as the installer would copy itself whatever it finds into the Data\Paks to the installation folder without any error messages on missing files), why not put as many files into that Data\Paks folder as it would fit on a DVD5 dis? Such as those 4 .pak files and some from the Design\Mission subfolder. That way one would end up at least with a full disk and not with 2 disks with 2/3 full.

Anyway, there's something strange with the game: upon loading it.. it just waits or does something for 20-30 seconds during the loading screen (the one with the busty character), then it moves on. Anyone happened the same ?
And no, it's not the hardware. :)

Erm, it I'd say, I would just repeat what dede (post #1) and myself (post #9) already said.
The trick is that the installer doesn't verify each file's location (on disk 1 or disk 2), I see no .ini file to specify that. Therefore, you put as many files on the first disk to fill it up to 4.37GB, then, what's left, on disk 2. And some big or numberous files are located in that Data\Paks folder.

Read it all again carefully. dede might want to specify that's verified with the english release, as well, now. :P

Thank's Nameless for Help, I don't find anyway to explain the manipulation bether, just i can add, test the process with virtual drive and iso files, don't need anything more, if work for english version, burn it:D .

a other suggestion, create with winrar, an installer (SFX)that contain all files from dvd2
Content from dvd 2 is:
Data\Design\
Data\design.pak
Data\gfx.pak
Data\shader.pak
Crack\updates

burn the installer on a data dvd2 and add it a autorun.inf file to run the installer.
Have fun..................

UK English DVD9 to 2 x DVD5 with automatic installer for 2nd DVD

1. Copy entire DVD9 to a temp directory.
Optional: Delete the 'Data\Register' and 'Data\Update' folders to stop your browser launching the Registration and Update pages before and after installation!
2. Move (DO NOT COPY) the 'Paks' folder from the 'Data' folder to another temp directory.
3. Burn the contents of the folder in step 1 (3.62GB) to a rewriteable DVD. No Volume Label is needed but I used DISK1.
4. Download this RAR (password GCW):

http://d.turboupload.com/d/1658097/SF.rar.html

and unrar it into the 2nd temp directory where you copied the PAKS folder too. This contains the Setup.exe (made with Inno Setup) to install the rest of the game, and a few Autorun files.
5. Burn the contents of the 2nd temp directory (3.67GB) to another rewriteable DVD. No Volume Label is needed but I used DISK2.
6. Install the game as normal from the first DVD.
7. Insert the 2nd DVD, it will Autorun if enabled, if not just run Setup.exe to install the rest of the game! This will install all the files\folders from the 'PAKS\DATA' folder to your 'Silverfall\Data' folder! The Setup.exe will silently finish when it's done!
8. Put any updates/cracks on whatever disc you like as there is plenty of space left, you can then install the update and crack after the 2nd DVD has finished installing.
9. Run the game and see if it plays as expected.
10. If all OK then burn to 2 x DVD+/-R!

Notes:
Do not move any files out of the PAKS folder, leave the structure intact or the custom installer will fail!

The Setup.exe checks for the existence of a Registry Key (HKLM\Software\Monte Cristo\Silverfall\HD_Path) to find where Silverfall is installed, if this key does not exist then you've not installed the game (and you will get a message to that effect), or it's not the UK version! This key may be the same for all versions though!

If you want the latest DirectX9 to be on the DVD, Feb 2007, then just download it from M$ site:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=4B1F5D0C-5E44-4864-93CD-464EF59DA050&displaylang=en

Locate the temp folder you copied the game files too and delete the files in the DirectX9 folder. Run the downloaded DX9 setup and extract the files to a temp folder then copy them to the same DirectX9 folder you just deleted the old DX9 files from. When the game installer ends it will automatically update the game to the latest DX9 if needed!
