View Full Version : CSI: MIAMI - looking for english version
Hi plp!
I have CSI: MIAMI but unfortunately the game is in German language what disappoints me 'cause I'm not good at it. Is it possible to switch some files and play the game in English? All in all the dialogs are in English but subtitles and the whole interface is in German. I am not able to concentrate and go on with the game. Can anybody help me with that language switch?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers!
Why would you have a german version?
Seeing as he is from Poland maybe that is all he could get in the stores.
Fair enough, but wouldnt it have had German writing all over the cover?
AHA!
What difference would the writing on the cover make?
If that is the only thing you can get in Poland then that is what you get.
If you read what he said, its as if he didnt expect it to be german.
It doesn't appear that way to me at all.
Ill highlight the good bits okay..

So that tells me
1. He didnt want a german version
2. He can hardly speak the language
3. If he bought it, he would have noticed the german writing on the box
4. We can assume this is a download. And he didnt buy, hence why he hasnt been back to defend.
That is one of the biggest problems on this forum now, people always assume, assume, assume.
This may not always be the case.
One of the hardest things to do is to figure out if it is indeed warez related or is indeed factual.
I have seen people being banned here because a non native English speaking moderator has assumed that much when someone, who was obviously using an online translator to ask his questions ended up posting something that was assumed to be warez. I would first have assumed that the translator was not as good as it could have been.
So instead of trying to work out just what the poster was asking he was banned.
Rather poor I thought and would certainly never have happened in the days when Swenske and Zedy were mods here.
If you were to go into a shop to buy a game you desperately wanted and the only ones available are in a language other than the one you preferred then you would probably buy it too and hope you could get through it as well.

Yes you are right! But what I really hate is when I help someone to get a game working only to find out (in one the their later posts) that I have helped that person to get a warez version working!
And it has happened to me a few times!

Im not really assuming out of thin air, we have facts in the first guys post. And it all points to warez.
If i dont see any tell tale signs about warez I will try to help people. Myself like any other long members is fed up coming in and seeing warez this and that, even if its not to obvious they are there.
The simple fact sidney is this, if he didnt want german version he wouldnt have bought it, so he has one which means he downloaded the game and then found out it was german and is now desperate to get it into english.
I hate not helping people that need help, because most of the time the people that do need help, their threads are hijacked by warez users who think by jumping on a legit person thread they will be ok and get help at same time.
It does my head in, every day it happens. Same old warez kiddies who dont read rules then start complaining if caught, moan moan moan. Every bloody day.
But anyways Sidney once your around more etc, you will notice the signs. And if you also read other posts I have defended people who have been accused also. So im not a one way type guy.
My dear ladies ;) Thank u for considering my post by I didn't ask for investigation if the game is legal or not :) I just want to know whether it is possible to have fun playing CSI in english or not. Perhaps someone can "lend" me apprioprate files to launch it in less sophisticated language than german. I was chcecking the files which probably consist english dialogs and menu but I am not able to activate them. I was trying to change .INI file but with negative effect. Damn it I can not swap the languages by myself and if noone helps me I will have to uninstall the game and forget about playing it. Whatever happens, thanks!
P.S. I bought the game at popular polish internet auction and hoped there will be possibility to change the language in the game ... I was wrong and it sucks!
Now i know you didnt read the rules ;)
Naaah, I read the pop up informing about warez stuff but to level up my forum knowledge I checked the rules deeply and according to them you broke no 9 (Off topic threads) my dear ladies :D
Cheers!!

Closed before the situation escalates; contact the publisher for help with chaning the game language.
(I'd happily closed threads dealing with changing the game language on sight in the past but now I move them to the "General Gaming" forum instead. Hope it's not assumed to be littering in this forum... :()
