FF8 original hangs can i swap to a copy?

At the part where the space rocket is about to take off in FF8 on disc 3 my original disk hangs at a FMV cutscene. would it be possible to, without a modchip or anything, load up the game with the original disk and start playing up to that point and then just before, swap disks with a copy on CDr and continue playing the game?

The original has a physical chip in the top data layer due to my ****tard cousin. never lend game to family.

...without a modchip or anything...I think when you open the PSX the game will end. You need these little spring-thing, so the PSX thinks it's always closed.

Usually depends on the model, but for me if my psx freezes on a fmv I turn it on its side or even upside down. It seems to work better that way for some games. I used to do it all the time for parasite eve, hope that helps!

can somebody help me on disk 2 when you meet galabida garden the game always freezes when they send the soldiers on the motorcycle:confused:
