Please HELP!

Hi, can someone please help me? I’ve had a xBox now for some years with a xecuter 1 chip in it, the other week my son while playing a backup of Burn out 3 from the HD went into the xbox live setting and looked around he was not connected to the internet as he does not have a broadband connection, he said the xbox locked up so he pressed reset and now every time it boots up it goes into the green xbox live settings screen with loads of options but non to exit, so I thought the xboxdash.xbe must be corrupted, I made a new EvolutionX boot CD and booted the xbox up it brings up the old EvolutionX menu screen with all my old settings, but without the CD it just boots into the green xbox live screen, so I thought I’d network it to my PC like I have done loads of times and replace the main files and replace xboxdash.xbe but it wont have any of it, I’ve connected it like I have done before but it will not talk, I’ve booted the xbox and looked at the IP setting 192.168.0.3 Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway 192.168.0.1 and gone into FlashFXP (the old version) and set up the connection with the user name and password xbox xbox, I’ve installed another NIC card and even tried setting a static IP address of 192.168.0.5 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 still no good and yes I’m using a cross wiring cable and the firewall is turned off, like I say I’ve done it so many times before, also if I try and change the setting in the xbox to static IP when I go back into the setting/info page its gone back to static IP No, do you think anything has happened to the xbox? Any help would be very welcome, thanks.
