HDD heat problems [Archive]

I would like to fit a new and bigger hdd but have heard that there could be some overheating problems with the bigger drives
Has anybody had any trouble
lastly what drive would you recomend

Well Ive never had any problems but I do always put an 80mm fan in my xbox before doing hdd upgrades. You could always edit your bios to up your stock fan speed to produce more airflow. That has worked for some people on these boards.

if u wanna big hdd
i recommend a maxtor
i gotta 250 in mine
i hadda 120
250 is sweeet
but 120's not bad at all

i bumped my bios to a fan speed of 60% with no problems. Higher speed would probably give better results as well.
