I am currently a slide card/swap magic user, have managed to copy successfully all attempted games, just needed to learn a few things well on the way now. next step may be to get a modchip

so would like to know

1. which is best
2. why its the best
3. and apart from the annoying swapping of discs, why its better than swap magic

btw been eyeing up the new DMS4 Pro or lite, mainly cos its the latest and sounds impressive with HD loader capabilities etc....

i would recomend either a matrix infinity or a crystal mod !!!
depends on what version ps2 you own !!!!!!!!!! ;)

the above are basicly the top dogs at the mo ,, however i hear through the grapevine that the duo 2 is a good mod ,, for price..... ;)

i have a v7 ps2 with messiah 2 mod and will not change for the simple reason that it has never let me down ,, never failed to boot n e thing so will stick with my little puppy :D

but if you havent got a mod then dependant on the v ps2 you have the above should be the way forward .... by the way get fekin rid of the swap ****e lol ;)

Well it depends on what your looking for out of a chip. If you simply want to boot your back-ups then depending on your version PS2 Duo2SE or Apple Pro. If you want a flashable chip with features then the MI or CC are tied for 1st IMO.

refer back to my first answer as they are all great just depends on your needs and pocket book.

Shouldnt that be enough by its self?!?! But if you need another reason swap magic fails on some games, yes there are workarounds but with a chip no need for workarounds.

not to start any bad things back and forth but i believe strongly that my dms3 in my v7 is the best chioce! i know that apparently the Matrix and CC chips have the same features but the dms3 (in a version 7 ps2) has never failed me.. a great chip with may great features.. but if you just looking to boot backups i would recomend the DUO serices of chips!

Infinity or Crystal. I don't like the DMS products - too touchy for something the other two I mention do just as well, if not better.

What do you exactly mean by DMS being "touchy?" I'm thinking of DMS3 v2 because it's the only option for my v0. Any problems/issues I should be aware of about this one?

I am going to be getting a CC soon becuase that looks best, and i always thought it was better, what is so good about the MI that makes it comparable to the CC and its BM?

1. Ground Bouce
2. HUGE PCB - hard to position
3. Signal wires prone to crosstalk
4. Major Chip Production Problems with DMS4

All problems you don't get with the Martix and Crystal. :)

I have DMS3 in my v9. It works great. However the new DMS4 chips are a major pain in the ashe! And team DMS are a bunch jerks-even to their own customers! It's ALL ABOUT THE MONEY WITH DMS- DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU DIFFERENT. They just out to take your money. I made mistake of complaining about it on their DMS website. Did they give me a refund-nope. The BANNED me from their site. I mailed out my deck to france to them for them to investigate problems with DMS4. They wanted my deck shipped out as fast as possible. Shipping alone was 40 USD! They promised a new deck, several chips and they would pay all shipping charges. lol They did actually mail out a deck and it was a new slim one. They wanted to send a hong kong console which was not acceptable and threw a fit at me for wanting a USA version deck. Took them over a month to send deck. Of course they did NOT include chips or money for shipping with the package the deck came in I had to hound them another month to send chips/ money for shipping. When they finally mailed out(2 months later) they sent out chips that were from the same lot experiencing problems. The money for postage was shipped to the USA in EUROS. Basically useless where I live and may as well been monopoly money. They also crossed the border into Spain to mail out the package of chips instead of France. All you have to do is visit DMS website and you can see tons of people all having same problem of chip not working. I would have liked a refund but it was NEVER offered to me. That's just how DMS is. Once they get your money you won't see it back again AND they will be jerks with you in the process.

At least with the Infinity team, you get very quick responses and helpful ones at that. Also, the boys over on the Crystal forums are very helpful too.

Will I ever buy DMS......... I don't reckon so. :)

Good post Cheryl, this is what makes me dislike team DMS. I have also read other horror stories on their forum. I've seen many people get banned for having legit claims against their chip and speaking out.

i dont deni any of this i am just saying that the dms3 is a superior chip! i know they are a big SH!T to install and maybe the custom service isn't 100% (Altho i have had zero problems with them) i just think that it is a great chip!

Trust me I was REAL tempted to swear and curse up a storm on their forum but I did not. I stated facts and got banned because they didn't like what I said. What probably got them the most was that it was all TRUE and there was nothing they could say. So they banned and removed all posts. Now that says alot about what kind of people you are dealing with. Their product won't stand up on it's own merit so they result to banning and silencing anyone that complains the chip is huge whale that has all sorts of problems with ground bounce.

Btw I have a dms3 in a v9. I like it but then-I had someone else install it. You can still pick up dms3 on clearance for a good price. Just make sure you get a pro to do the install. Ps2 games auto boot right up and psx games you hold down circle button while it boots. The thing is DMS4 pro or lite is much worse. Eventually dms3 chips will be sold out leaving alot of pain in the butt dms4 chips. The dms4 went WAY WAY downhill from the dms3.

it cost $23 bucks and it got 17 wires to solder. as for features:

plays backup dvdr, cdr, movies backups and hd compatible.

what else could you want.

get it bro!
