fro u to put a new hdd in you know you need a mod right?
as for the xbox to xbox it is not possible.. you need to hook your xbox up to your PC then use an ftp client, connect to the xbox (one with all info) and then transfer it to the other xbox after you install it!

You can use avalaunch and any other dashboard (avalaunch on both xbox's can use boost mode). When I mod other people's xbox's, that is the dash I use to install all of the apps they need. Also, that reduces the need of a PC, so if it is a house call, I can just go with my xbox. If I need pictures, well, evox has an easy background changer :P

I've been trying to use the latest unleashx dash to do this, but no success.
I've had to use flashfxp to transfer from xbox to xbox. Is there any turtorial, or could someone explain, how to do xbox to xbox with unleashx dash, step by step? I do house calls as well, but only if they have a pc. :-( I hope someone can explain this. Also, all i need to do this is one cat5 cable from mine to my friends xbox right?

Actually, UnleashX keeps freezing randomly on me. I have re-installed and un-installed but I can't get rid of the problem. I can probably tell you how with avalaunch though if you'd rather have that instead.

Edit: btw, avalaunch auto-detects other avalaunch clients. So if you boot them both (with seperate static IP's without a router), the other xbox will automatically show up as a connection.

If you have a router, skip the 1st step:
[1.] Load up avalaunch on both xbox's. Go into network settings and make the IP's static. And not the same.
[2.] Reset if you did step one. If not, load up avalaunch on both. You only need to control 1 xbox, so just leave the second one be after launching avalaunch.
[3.] Go into the file manager. Click the right window and press start. There should be an option like "switch to remote connect". If you click it, a list of avalable networks will appear.
[4.] The other xbox should appear there is it loaded avalaunch. If not, you can pres start and add a new connection (or there is an option in the network list). Click the new connection and you just need to input the IP, Username, and Pass. It should connect.

that was off the top of my head, since someone is playing my xbox at the moment.

so your saying this can be done without a router right? all i need is one cable from my xbox to the other? is that correct?

Yah, but you need to asign IP's to each dash. And you must be using a cross cable which you probably know already.

Dont mean to jump in here (yeah maybe I do). But couldnt you just make a couple of avalaunch boot discs with different static IP's so that you can use them quickly on any xbox?

how do you assign an ip address to a dash? and do I add this ip address to avalaunch, and not unleashx? and yes, i know of the crossover cable :)

edit - what is DHCP and Static? Do I choose Static to transfer from one xbox to another without a pc?

static basically means the settings won't change. Everything should be auto (except IP). Just boot up avalaunch, go into network settings, edit the IP and make it static. THen when you reboot, it should all work fine.

I would suggest you do what Tyler said, it is actually a pretty good idea. That way when you make house calls, you don't need to install that dash before doing anything.

then cant u just use the bootdisks, or jsut copy the files with like a huge mem card, i heard they well them manufactured off the web, with like a 4gb transfer cache

Yes, you can then boot them from a disk. I believe Tyler mentioned that. I have no idea what you meant in the second sentence,
