Rome Total War cheats codes don't work

The Rome Total War cheats don't work - has anyone else actually got the cheat codes to work? and please I'm not a newbie don't even think of lamblasting me as if I don't know what I'm doing....

I've managed to beat the game without the cheats but sometimes you just like to act godly ya know....... ;)

Note: Some of these can only be used once per game.

What kind of cheat codes can only be used ONCE like WTF!!!!!!!
