Never mind - I've found a solution

However, If I were to download and install Winrar - would this mean that it will take control of all .zip files as well?
Or is there an option to tell it not to open .zip files?

I'm saying this becasue some time ago I downloaded Winace and I hated the program as it was very difficult to work with also it crashed in stupid places. ANd becasue it was told to open .zip files then I could never go back to use windows XP compressed zip folder and when I tried to uninstall the program - it wouldn't let me and when I manualy deleted it, when I tried to open a zip folder it said "Cannot find Winace.exe - connot open this file" and it wouldn't even allow me to tell it to be open with windows XP compressed folder.

I no longer have Winace becasue my computer suffered a very bad crash which required formatting, and by this - Winace was gone "Well done sir"

So I dont want any of that with Winrar so I would like to know this,
Can I use Winrar to only open .rar files and leave .zip files to Windows XP compressed folder?

In the newer versions of winrar you can specify what file types winrar opens. Not too sure u can do this at install, I can't remember, but once winrar is installed go to the Options, Settings menu and click on Integration and uncheck .zip.

When u next open a zip file winrar shouldn't open it and u shud be able to specify xp to open it instead.
