Lens damage = Urban legend?

OK, I figure this could make an interesting thread.

I've read a few posts where people claim to have had their lens damaged after using CDRs in their DC. Is there any truth to this? Or is this yet another myth?

Please, share your experiences if you've ever had this problem. Feel free to have opposing views.

well, my dc laser/lens konked itself out of alignment while playing a cdr i believe. damn thing fell like three inches and landed on some shoes, i said, oh well, no bigie. well i was obviously wrong, because it will no longer boot any games.. blah.

I have been playing CDr games for 2 weeks...no problems for now
