hey hey, can ne1 link to an installatin guide for a cheapmod? its the small green chip with the 9 solder points down the side not the plug thingy lol

and does it disable macrovision by default?

just look at the x2 diagram
its the same thing
8 lpc point and 1 d0 point
and macrovision is dependin on the bios

ive already got a cheapermod installed so ive got a bios disable wire on the board, do i just take that chip off and replace it with the cheapmod or do i need to take that wire out and put it somewhere else on the board?

lmao no hes telling u that macrovision can be disabled but it depends on the bios u have on ur modchip u cant replace any wires for that hehe

i dnt mean to disable macrovision, im rying to swap my cheapermod with a cheapmod cos it died, i just dunno what to solder where lol

ok it would be helpful if u told me what cheapmod it was and the one u are replacing with now. If you dont know the name just take a pic of it i can tell what it is.

the 1 ive got in now is a cheapERmod, the 1 im swapping it with (soz cant take a pic) is a small square green chip with a black box on it and it has 9 square solder points down the right side, do u need to kno nething else?

yea if u dont know what is called i wouldnt reccomend u doing it at all. hehe i think its a apple pro

how did u install the otherone b4? wire direct or pin header?

nah that aint it, the cheapermod had a slit in the side that fits over the solder points on the board and u solder in the slit so the chip sticks to the board, the cheapmod is a pcb version that u solder wires to.

ok where did u order ur mod from? ive done my xbox with a cheap mod called duox its very reliable. i installed mine by wire. Who installed ur modchip? I know what a cheap mod is mate! :p

lol, just noticed the chip has LPC MOD V1.0 on it and the solder points r labelled

hmm i donno about your chip sounds like a home brew one 2 me where are the install diagrams? i would reccomend a pro do ur xbox i would change the mod 2 for a better one u know will work like duox or apple v

well last time i tried to solder a mod, i ended up spilling solder everywhere and burning the chip to bits as well as a bit of the board so i guess thats a no lol i kno some1 that will do it cheap tho :-)
