View Full Version : Pal Version Rally Sport Challenge 2
I just bought this and my modded xbox won't play it! :(
It's the original not a backup (Tried making a backup but it's 6 gigs worth as already mentioned before)
Here's my setup
Xbox v1.1
4980 bios
Evo x installed
Standard Harddrive
Any ideas?
Thats odd. Damn, wish I had a copy to try in a Crystal Pack.
You mite want to change it over to a NTSC system. I use ConfigMagic to do that, but I'm sure Enigmah will do just fine as well.
I just changed the region to NTSC and has made no difference. Still get the dirty disc error after the initial loading screen.
HOWEVER,
it has booted once and played ok for a while before giving the dirty disc error again.
BUT
ive come to the conclusion it's because of the evolution x dashboard as i've tried it on another modded xbox (Same bios, chip etc) that doesn't have evolution x installed and it boots up fine.
Probably a simple patch job......but can't patch the original! So officially until a new bios comes out (or until I uninstall evolution x) i'm screwed :(

try using a slayer to change the system type.. then try it
Already tried with no luck. If evolution x isn't the dashboard it boots fine. If it is, it boots to the first loading screen then dirty disc error :(

you have evoxdash.xbe renamed to xboxdash.xbe and the origional dash renamed to something else like msxboxdash, xbe?
The game should work fine if ms dash is left alone and your mod should detect evoxdash.ebe file anyway. This is how my Xbox is set and RSC2 works fine, even with the drive unlocked.
The evox dashboard is named xboxdash.xbe
and the ms dashboard is named msdash.xbe (All set up correctly under evox)
I've tried loading the msdash through evox then loading the game but the same happens again.
Whether this is a problem only with the pal edition i'm not sure as it was only released a few days ago.
But as I've said, if the original dashboard is named what it should be (xboxdash.xbe) then the game boots up fine.
HOLD FIRE! :D:D:D:D:D:D
Simply dawned on me what the problem could be and I was right.
My bios clock on the xbox was corrupted (usual year problem) so set it correctly and now the game boots fine with evox installed as originally set out in this forum
FANTASTIC

I don't understand why you would not want your system set up like that?
Just leave MS Dash as xboxdash.xbe, they way it should be and have evox as evoxdash.xbe. It's more compatable, obviously, to leave your system like that than have unnecessary changes.
It's set like that simply because the early bios's required it to be that way.
I've updated evolutionx numerous times but never bothered to update the boot procedure.
Anyway it doesn't make any difference cause the only problem i've ever had since launch is this one, which was down to the corrupt clock problem. (hasn't been used in ages)
