Updating bios

Hi im using an Xecuter 2 modchip and i plan on upgrading the bios because im using the standard one it came with. Now i am unsure of whether my modchip is flash upgradable because the brand of modchip i am unsure of. It could be a homebrew one, anyway would it be possible to try flashing it with say a 256k bios? Or would i end up buggering the xbox if im unsure of all the info needed?

u could doi it through evox dependin on ur original bios..
or u could buy the x2 programmer

Yup i think i got a grip on how to do it, however its the uncertainty of it working is my main gripe. (Did u like how i used grip and gripe together?...man im awesome)
But seriously, would anyone have a clue as to whether i can safely flash my unknown modchip xecutor 2 bios? Or does one really need to know about the current bios? Basically would it be a risk to chuck the bios on cd-rw and using evox flash my modchip?

what hes trying to say is:

if you have evolution x installed on your xbox use its flashing program to flash your new bios. If you dont have evox or anything like it go buy a x2 programer for www.foundmy.com or somewhere like that :)

any x2 version can be reflashed
jstust use evox
after uploading the bios to C:\bios\

i just read my very first post and i need to change something
i DO NOT have an xecuter 2 MODCHIP
rather
i DO have an unknown modchip (to me, unknown)
but i do i have the xecuter 2 BIOS

well...... its a start if you tell us what it looks like i should be able tell you what mod it is and also what colour is the xbox logo when the mods enabled?

Im too scared to open the box tho, its probably a homebrew chip rite coz then it would advertise somewhere during boot up the name of the chip

what colour is the xbox logo and take a look around the side and turn on the modchip and see if theres a flashing led inside :)

the xbox logo is standard green and everything is normal cept for the fact that i have evox but everything is normal
btw i do not have a switch for my chip and there r no present external custom LEDs
I got my chip around this time last year maybe a tiny bit earlier

you really need to open it up. if you have ever opend a pc you be fine its really easy

get torx screwdirves 10, 15, and 20
for safety sake.. cuz diff version have relatively diff ones
those 3 cover all though
its easy as anythin to open up
take a pic if u can
if not
then describe it..
or try to find a pic of the same one online somewhere
