check your soldering all i can say.
Do Psx games load as normal or do you have to press and hold reset for 3 sec?

You did! Whatever for? I dont see why people still buy that chip. It was one of the worst versions they made.
Tyler!
Assuming the PS2 backups are of quality ( Proven to work). I would check for a crossed wire or a dry soldered wire.
Btw, TD is correct, The magic 3 chips did have a few bugs and are outdated, You may want to update to a DUO, very reliable and cheap ;)

by games i mean backups. Originals work fine, as well as dvds.

Are your wires too long or something? Sometimes a shorter wire works better than a really long wire.

all of my wires are short, so i don't think it's that.

i reinstalled every wire, but my ps2 is still not playing any backups, however now it makes a noise like it is trying to boot up my backups, but instead i end up getting a red screen after it takes me to the browse manu for a sec. What do you guys think it might be???
try beefing up the ground and power wires
I'm gonna try and get a cheap PS2 off eBay, get it going and then mod it. What have I got to lose? BTW, what is a 'Dry Joint?'

what do you mean by "beefing up the ground and power wires"
Try using some 22AWG stranded wire for power and ground. See what happens then...

Its when a wire is soldered or stuck to the board without it making good enough contact to receive signal.

i used 30awg size wires for all my connections, but where can i get 22AWG wires? And by the way the reason i can't take a pic with a digital camara is because i don't have one.
I took apart my old VCR Remote - a chip with legs as small as the PS2's and plenty of VIAs. PERFECT! :D
Now all I need is my Soldering Iron. Seen them at Maplin for £15, but does anyone else know somewhere where I can get one? Thanks...

look for some good oxygen free speaker wire you can get this from any audio/video store get a few feet if you are not willing or able to get this double up the power and ground by winding 2 or 3 of the 30awg wires Together

that's excactly what i was thinking!!!!!!!!
I'm going to double up for groung connections.
remember the power wire as well still think that u should get a duo as the magic 3.1 over heats your ps2 when you play it for a long time and does not boot new well

well i think i found what is wrong. one wire came of which was point p, but now it shows the ps2 logo in the bigining of the loading, however it is all smerged and then after that it takes me into the red swreen. After i soldered back point p, i check and found out that there was not much curent in my reset and 5v points, so i
soldered an extra wire for each, but it did not seem to increase the current. So is there a way i can clean these both points to see if i can get more current??
ok you are using the Messiah 2 wright? it sounds like you have a power wire too close to a chip on the main board that is makeing the screen fuzz when u try to boot a game so try this
first keep the wires as short as possable
see are there any solder bridges use a magnafining glass and look closely
do u have good conection with all the wires and what they are soldered to did u use flux when u soldered to copper pads on the board did u clean them before
go over the board with a good set of clocks test all the wires going to the chip
move the wires that are close to the large black chips on board away from them
if all this doesn't work wrap some wire around the SEALED power wire and solder the 2 ends to the copper ground strip on the edge of the board the power wire should have NO BREAKS IN THE CASEING and the ground u are putting around it should have NO Conection with the power wire only do this if non of the above work
