View Full Version : Street Fighter Alpha 3
ok...hmm...i downloaded this file from shareaza. it's labeled Dreamcast.DC.Street.fighter.alpha.3.autoboot.nrg.1 00%working.nrg.rar and i tried burning it with nero 6 but people told me to use nero 5.5 and i used that. it has 2 tracks: the first track is data (mode 2) and 671 mb, and the second track is data (mode 2 as well) and is only 1 mb. altogether it says that the image is 767 mb. i burn it at only 2X speed and i put the overburn option on. if anyone can help me with burning this image please help, i greatly appreciate it. or if something looks wrong with the image i downloaded, such as the size of the image please let me know as well. i would greatly appreciate all the help i can get. thank you.
You CAN use Nero 6 if you use the latest available version... (6.3.1.6 right now, I think). But if you burn with Nero 5.5, you must use DAO/96 write method. Plain DAO doesn't cut it.
ok...i'll let you know how things go with this, because i just ran out of cds.
ok...i burned it with DAO/96 and when i tried loading it into the dreamcast it resets at sega screen. what can i do? anyone who can help me with this problem will receive a sega genesis roms disc for dreamcast!

SFA3 needs a patch to work on PAL DCs.
If your DC is PAL, hexedit your file, look for :
03 88 4E 89 64 A0 09 00 1E D3 00 E5 01 E6 0B 43 31 E4
and change the first "03" by "02"
If might help.
Otherwise, you could just try to extract all the files from the image and remake a new image. Then burn it with your favorite burning program.
My DC is NTSC not a PAL. I converted the *.nrg image to a *.bin using WinISO. Then I used bin2boot GUI to make it a bootable image, but I still didn't get the chance to burn the image because I still need to go out and buy new cd-r's since I ran out. Anyone please let me know if I am on the right track.
Why didn't you just burn the .nrg (or patch the .nrg in-place without extracting/converting anything)? I seem to recall hearing that bin2boot_gui isn't foolproof... particularly if you missed extracting IP.BIN when you took out the data track from the .nrg and re-selfbooted it.
i think bin2boot will not work on the 1st_read.bin unless it's hacked to lba of 0
as far as i know bin2boot hacks anything itself....so just drop your non bootable image into bin2boot
