Recently I just found out my friend had Sword of the berserk and I asked him to lend it to me for a few days. The problem is that haven't used my dreamcast in ages because it is broken (dunno what, just cant load games it seems)
So I thought maybe I could get an emulator on the net and run the game on my computer instead, but since my friend wanted the game back before friday (last week's friday in fact).I wanted to burn a new cd. After trying multiple programs I finally got myself a CDI image of SOTB and gave the game back to my friend.

However now I realise I can't burn a cd out of it because the game is in the 800MB and my cds dont go over 750mb.

I tried to make it on a 4.2Gig DVD, but my writter can't read it and thinks there is no cd at all

Long story heh ?

Well now i'm stuck with a CDI i can't even burn and wonder
if there is an emulator that can run .CDIs or if there is a way to change the CDI into another type of image file or something so it works with the emulator. From all my programs, only 1 could turn it into iso/bin.

If I make an iso it says I need an ip.bin file or something, and I don't know a friggin thing about that.

as for the bin well I managed to make a .bin and after reading a few tutorials on the net, I also managed to make a .cue to go with it but neither works.

is somebody good at this ? or have a good program thjat can actually turn a CDi into something usefull ? I'm a noob :(

have you tried burning it to a cd-r anyway with discjuggler? sometimes the size of the image is not the actual size of the actual files. its just padded or something.

dreamcast cant read dvd's.

if you want an ip.bin, download IP Extractor in the pinned topic. and use it on the .cdi. thats a start.

You shouldn't even bother about all that stuff, since there's no emu for DC !

Anyway, since your image is from a CD, it will fit on another CD ! Every burning programs add meta-info in the images they make, so that images are always bigger than the burned files.

really ? well that's a start ^^ but my i only have disc juggler trial version and it wont go further than 700 mb

and for the ip.bin, it may just work fine, I'll have to try

----------------------------five minutes later-----------------

well the ip works.
i can see the sega logo until an unhandled error message appear

thats a good start perhaps now i only need to make a runnable
bin or iso out of the cdi..

well maybe its my emulator, its not the first time I hear DC emulator don't work..
anyone actually been able to run a game image file on a DC emulator ?
if yes could you tell me the name of that emulator plz ^^
