Okay, while soldering in some wires I managed to desolder/move a resistor. Not a big deal, Happens sometimes when I'm working on video cards. But, after I take it off to inspect it, (I wanted to make sure I didn't damage it.) I dropped it, and the carpet ate it. The goddamned carpet swallowed it. I've spent 3 hours with tweezers under my work area and all I've found is that I drop a lot of solder on the ground.

Anyway, here's the exact part.

Can anyone either:
A)
Gimme the details on this so I can find a replacement.

B) Sell me one.

Thanks.

Feel free to mock me as I'm still banging my head into my desk.

i can sell u a replacement for $8 shipped, hey frito sounds to me like this is beyond your skill. I highly suggest you just mail the whole thing to me and pay the $50 to get the repair and chip done right instead of you struggling with it and perhaps killing the ps2 altogether..

umm yea netmech does have a point it does look bloody tricky to replace a resistor i accidently desoldered one somehow. Where is the most sensitive place to put your soldering iron on a resistor?

the yellow ones are capacitors, not resistors. Find a replacement on any junk board. Probly' 0.1 uf or 1uf at the most. I fear for your Mobo!

LOL xxxxxx :) hell if he sent the system in for a install i usually dont even charge people for the repair or spare parts unless its a big item like a laser motor or something. Surface mount Capacitors and resisters can be a bitch to solder back on if you dont have the right tools. And then if you flick the thing in the air and it lands in your carpet your screwed. If your going to do it yourself i suggest using a needle, flux and a magnifying light.

He said he has experience with video cards, so I doubt he is going to have any problems installing it back in.
Lets just hope he doesn't feed it to his carpet again.
