I installed a new reset/eject cable the other day which fixed my problems. BUT now when i hit the eject button the tray seemed to have trouble coming out. It finally did so i inserted another game and closed pretty fast. Now all i get is the normal blue video screen. I get the lights on the buttons and they will power on/off and eject but only get the ble video screen. Whats the deal with it now?
Did you check the other ribbon cables, maybe one got pulled loose.

the ps2 has worked fine for the past week. I turned it on last night to play NFL street then changed the disc to play another game then got this blue video screen. So not sure how a cable could come lose.
Is it only that game that doesn't work, or do other games do not work? ... It might be only that one media.

it shouldnt matter. Its the blue video screen. Like when you turn your tv to the video mode. it shows the blue screen. So when i press the reset button it only shows the blue screen and no sound or logo

Just a stupid thought, but when you get a blue screen your PS2 isn't turned on or the connection between the PS2 and tv got disconnected. Could it be that your connection got loose?

i also noticed that the disc doesnt spin when i hit the reset button
o crap i dont know why i didnt notice this u ur ps2 did the same as my magic V v9 system did i was playing a moive truned it off went to watch it later no sound or pic then the tray took like 30 secs to open and close and the disc would not spin eather u can here the laser doing something a few secs then that was it when i removed the chip the tray worked right but still no pic/video and still had the same laser problems so i belive its the LA or BA chip problems that all the v9s been haveing.

yeah i know but u may had overheated that chip somehow or u might had blew a fuse to the vidoe/sound i just know thats the same problems my v9 had and i belive it was the LA chip that killed mine.
