Is it possible to make 1:1 copies for a PS2 game so you don't need a mod chip?

Just get a chip - stay away from the Slide Card / No Solder / Flip-Top  'mods' or any which require swapping.

Go with a Messiah 2 / DMS3 / Magic V / Apple (depending on console version of course).

I got my PS2 yesterday. How can I find what version my console is? Also, is soldering these chips easy to do?

Oh, I also have a Liteon LDW-811S which can burn both CD and DVD. Is this a good piece of hardware?

I'm guessing this is my version number: SCPH-50001

Thats the model number. It can be a V9, or a V10. What is the date code and what country are you in? Was the PS2 supported by card board or styrofoam inside the PS2's cardboard box?

I did some searching around on the net and it is V10. It's model number SCPH-50001 and contains a date code of 3C. I'm in the US and my PS2 came in styrofoam.

Unless ur experienced with surface mount soldering and have the right kit I wouldn't go anywhere neer it urself. Get a pro to fit for u.
