Hi people i just wondered that if i got a Xecuter 2.3b chip and have the Evolution X dashboard installed , will my xbox be able to play dvd's???

Dvd's in general? It should even without a chip.
If your talking backed up xbox games, then yeah if you have that modchip and youve got evox installed Im sure you can play games on it.

If you mean without the playback kit, then no, or at least to an extent. There is a free xbox dvd player called "dvd-X2", that allows you to play dvd's without it. However, since the legality is questionable, we cannot post on where to obtain this app.
Put that on your xbox, and your controller functions as the remote.

Yeah Ive used that too. Its not that bad of a program. Just gotta remember all the settings of your controller.

cool sounds like a good program... by any chance can anyone e-mail me with advice on where to get it?? byron.newtonb@btinternet.com :) Also how do install such programs like this onto the xbox, does it go on the same way as the evoX dash ( burn iso insert into xbox etc) or do i have to transfer it to my pc.. let me know..

You can get it from #xbins. Your not allowed to ask for programs here.
I would recommend adding it to your apps section the let your evox dashboard autodetect it.
I think you can use it as a boot disc as well but I personally havent tried it that way.

rite i managed to get hold of dvdx2 from somewhere.... now im stuck once again (sorry ppl surely u can help out a wee n00b :) )
I have it on a disk but is there some sort of guide to tell me how to install it on the xbox or can one of you guys help me? ... cheers
