I havent had heaps of experience with backing up my games, i just backed one up onto my HDD yesterday for the first time.
But i just used boXplorer and simply copied the files/folders on the game's disc onto my E: drive in my xbox's HDD.
Everythings fine. You do however obviously need EvoX to be able to install boXplorer onto HDD if u want to load it from there, and also be able to run games from ur HDD.

What I'd do is, just reflash your chip with the latest BIOS from Team Xecuter. Its got "on the fly" patching.

whoa.. hold up.. you say youre"thinkin" about gettin a modchip, do you have one yet?

cuz if you dont have one yet consider which chip your getting.
xecuter2.3 and 2.3 lite is VERY good. although i have a softmodded xbox, my friend has this and it works well. of course i recommend softmodding, because there is very small chance of screwing up an xbox, (and also cuz i have one :D )and also its free. but alot of people just spend money and mod it becouse softmodding can be alittle confusing when you set it up. or because they dont have a memory card ( you need a mem card to soft mod) even though mem cards are cheaper than chips.
