PSX to PC adapter

I bought a PSX to PC adapter today. Got home set it up windows detected it right away and installed everything. It didn't work when i went to play a game so I went back and tried to configure the control. Nothing happened when I was pushing buttons and stuff. What can i do to fix this? OH btw I'm using a PS2 control if that matters..

Sorry for asking the obvious,but was there no floppy/cd with drivers in with the adapter?
I got an adapter off ebay,driver floppy didn't work.
Cant configure it as a psx pad,just as a 16 button joypad.:(
