recently i decided to buy the pioneer s606 dvd burner. I had to get an external one seeing that im using a laptop. i looked around the web and say a site where they said the s606 is really the 106/a06 model just an external form of the writer. on pioneer's website they say it is based on the dvr-a06 model. So when i run clone dvd and choose my pioneer burner...it gives me the model number dvr-106d(rev. 1.06) so does that mean that my "s606" model is "truly" the 106/a06? and if so would that mean that i can upgrade my burner with the firmware for the a06/106 and it would work for my "s606"? and one more thing...to clear this up is the 106 and the a06 the exact same thing. one is just the oem and the other is retail or somethin? Some help would be appreciated. Also, i have been lookin around and havent gotten this question completely answered. Does the a06/106 work well for all copy protections? Does it correct efm and does it support raw-dao96 ( i believe that is the correct term) I just want to make sure this drive will be able to backup copy protected computer games and also ps2 games? thanks again

You basically got it all right. Yes your burner is basically a 106. And you were correct in your differences between the 106 and A06. Not sure about pc copy protections, but it does ps2 games with perfection.
