³ PLANETWEB BROWSER VERSION 3.0 GD-ROM FILES |

: Ripper......: El Bucanero | Genre.........: Web Browser :
³ Release Date: Sep/12/2003 | Disks.........: 1CD 02x20mb ³

³ Well, I just wanted to test my new BBA for the DC, and here's ³
: the result. As far as I know, there's no proper release of the³
| only english browser that supports the broadband adapter. |
³ ³
: Please NOTE that this is NOT a working release of the Planet ³
³ Web 3.0 browser! These are just the plain files ripped from :
: the original GD-ROM, so if someone has the required knowledge ³
| and time, he/she will be able to crack/patch the files to run |
³ from a burned CD-R. ³
| :
: Some misc notes: |
³ ³
: The GD-ROM has 14 "security" files, named MUSTHAVEFILExx.JPG :
³ These files are exactly the same, so I've taken down 13 and |
³ relinked them to the first one. ³
| ³
: I'm pretty sure there's some LBA checks to see if those files :
³ are in the disc in the correct places, but I can't confirm, ³
³ due the fact that I've no SH4 ASM knowledge so the cracking & |
| patching is waiting for a brighter mind. ³
: |
³ Btw, I included the IP.BIN, the .SFV for every file on the :
: original ISO and the file list information with LBAs and sort ³
| order. ³
³ |
: Finally, I hope that these files will be useful to someone ³
³ and eventually we'll see a proper release of PW3. |
| :
³ ³
³ My personal greetz goes to some of my favourite DC groups: |
| :
³ECHELON - KALiSTO - EURASiA - GENiUS - ORGASM - HOOLiGANS - WjR³
| :
³ (Anyone wants to take the challenge and crack this browser?) |

And the CRC32 checksums of the files:

buk-planetweb3.r00 51D17EAB
buk-planetweb3.rar 09A59150
; End of SFV file.

COOL!!!! :D

it's about time someone ripped pw 3.0.

i'll be on the lookout for those .rars.

btw, could you make a .txt file of the.nfo so ppl on DC browsers like myself can read it? i know the post above is an edited.

thank you so much!!!!!

I ripped it a couple of weeks ago, havnt had much time to play around with it though, but my rip is running flawlessly except for a filecheck of the "dummyfiles" , havnt worked that part out yet.

so what happens is that a window pops up sometimes telling you something like "disc is damaged, please go to http://planetweb.....etc etc" you click can click "OK" & continue surfing as nothing happened, anyway its definately not "too big to fit on a CDR" like some ppl have been saying, its actually pretty small, check sizes of previous versions of planetweb and youll get the idea.

& btw like bucanero said, the musthavefiles are identical, I compared them

Hello bum,

I was wondering, wich hack tool did you use to hack the BIN's and get it to boot on cd-r?

Echelon's BINHACK? maybe HACK3? or maybe another tool?

I would like to know, so I can do some more work on my ripped files and see if I can get it to work properly.

thanks in advance,

bum

hello
I kept the 2nd session at LBA 45000 (why change it? the files will easily fit on a CDR) & also kept the originial LBAs of the rest of the files if possible (80 min CD-R), , did all my hex-editing by hand, been trying to find references to these musthavefiles etc in the code, Im not a SH4 asm wizard, so it aint easy, removed some of the "musthavefiles, tried to relink them to other identical files. wasted a couple more CDs since last time I posted here *sigh*

PW 2.6 is by far the best dc browser.

Planetweb is the WORST browser for DC

you will know why if you have
Dream Passport 3 or Dream Key 3

I have Dream Key 3 (no irc support:() and translated DP 3(or 2) and they're much worse than PW...

pw is good for listening mp3 sounds and chatting on irc, but if u try to browse the web ull see how much it sux compared to dk/dp.

never tried pw3, its said it recognizes a few java applets, but i doubt the way html and javascript codes are recognized is greatly improved.

anyway a release would be something beneficial to me, im sure a lot of people like me are curious to see the difference with pw2.6

It sounds like you at least got the disk working, right bum? Could you PM me with the details on the disk, I really don't care if you fixed the pop-up or not, I'd just be happy to finally get online with my DC. Thanks.
