Is your DC build after Dec. 2000? Perhaps you have problems with Audio/Data Tracks.
I would mount the Image in DemonTools and extract all Files with IsoBuster. Then i would create with the Selfboottols from DCEmulation a new selfbootable Image with Data/Data Track form.
Or what happens when you try to boot? After the Dreamcast Screen it shows the Audioplayer or do you get the Sega License Screen and then a black Screen?

What exactly is your problem ?
There's a patch for Ikaruga. Maybe it would be usefull for you.

Thanks for the reply...

My exact problem is that this is the only game I can't burn...I've burned a lot of games the same way for years....but this one just won't load...it stays on the Dreamcast screen and does some weird noises...like it tries o load but it can't....

I can't say for sure....but I probably bought it before 2000....why?

The original image was a CDI so I used DJ 4 ...but I also extracted it to a bin and burned it wid CDrWIN 5 ...all these at 1X....I don't get it....

Oh...and I also can't burn lower than 12X with Nero or Alcohol 120%...I don't understand why either....

are you familiar with the echelon selfboot method? that's how i got mine to boot. but with ikaruga, you need these tools to get th plain files and hack the 1st_read.bin,

cdirip
isofix
isobuster/cdmage
hack3

do a search on google if you don't have these tools.

my image of ikaruga uses the 45000 lba trick. it has two audio tracks in the 1st session then the data track in the 2nd.

use cdirip on the image and write down the lba of the data session. it should be 45000. if not, write it down. you should have a new file called, TData03.iso and bootfile.bin. double-click isofix and input, TData03.iso. it will ask you for the data track's lba. should be 45000 or whatever it was, input it when it asks.

now after a few minutes, it will spit out a new file called, fixed.iso. delete TData03.iso. open fixed.iso in isobuster or cdmage and extract the files to the data dir in the echelon selfboot dir.

rename bootfile.bin to IP.BIN. put IP.bin along with ikaruga's 1st_read.bin in the selfboot folder(up one level from the data folder).

run hack3 on the 1st_read.bin

if i remember right,

dos prompt to the selfboot dir,

hack3 1st_read.bin 11702

**change 11702 to your lba after you usually burn the audio.raw. either 11700/11702.***

binhack the 1st_read.bin and then put it back in the data dir.

continue the echelon selfboot method as usual. after burning, pop the cd in your dc and see if it worked.

hope it helps.

Thanks a lot for your reply hrb2k, even though I understood half of what you said
....I'll do searches based on the information you gave me and get back after I have completed the task....

Hopefully I'll get it to work.... :D

thanks again man:D

Did you simply try to patch it ?
Otherwise it won't even load on your DC if you've got a PAL DC.

You're a lucky guy.
It didn't work on mine, and didn't work for many people...
Maybe you found an already patch version !

Holy crap....after 5 days without internet  ...... I've just started to do some research on this ....

In my initial post I mentioned that I have an american dreamcast form 2000....not PAL....so the patch doesn't apply for me...so I'll get back on the solution that hrb2k posted....thanks ...

ok, i edited my post above to the real filenames. cdirip doesn't spit out "tmp.iso". it spits out TData**.iso

where, ** is the data track's number. ex. TData03.iso.

Does it matter if I burn an image with discjuggler 4 right?....I don't need DJ3 for some games do I?....that would be dumb....but then again....

If anyone can tell me were I can find a trial version of DJ3...it's not on their web site...I'm currently using their version 4 trial....thanks
