dvd-r ?

say u have a 4 speed burner can u burn a 1x dvd-r at 4x or a 1x at 2x on a 2x burner or would this cause for a bad burn cause i got a dvd-r tobisha 2x and i burn games at 2x and they wont play so im thinking maybe my media is 1x cause come to think of it it said 1x but on speical burners u can use 2x but mine was not listed on the list that can burn 2x

It's all down to firmware. If you can get a 2x hack, you can write 1x discs @ 2x ala, A/103/4/5/6. But 1x @ 4x - No.

There can also be a crappy media probelm. Some discs might be 2x but don't work well unless you burn at 1x. Stick to top quality dvd media and you will be fine.
