Could you tell me how to test DVD-R`s ?
I mean what to look for - I only runned Neros Surface-Test a few times, but it gives me always perfect results so Im a bit suspicious.

Never encountered any trouble with my DVD-Rs.. apart that they are read slower than the originals( on the PC ), but AFAIK thats normal since pressed DVDs have better reflextion.

This wasnt what I meant. I was asking for a way to judge the quality of the DVD-R itself( or rather the quality of the Brand ), and how to test that.
Easiest answer would be if no burn of BrandA works, and every one of BrandB does, BrandA is likely crap. But luckily the difference in Quality isnt that dramatical.

Well to convert £GBP to $USD, multiply the £GBP by 1.5. So,:

=0.90p x 1.5
=$1.35

Hope this helps...

Basically, just burn a PS2 game and a DVD Video to one of the DVD-R's. Then test how they work for example, how is the sound/ picture quality, how often does it boot from 10 attempts, is the FMV smooth, what dye does it use? How much is it? and all that sort of stuff. That's how you test DVD-R. Finally, give it a score and a percentage and you're done.

Hope this helps...

Also when testing be sure to test Vice City, as this is a very laser demanding game that requires decent media.
