Messiah 2 wires

I bought a messiah 2 chip. I looked into the installation guide. Now I need 35 swg (32awg) wires to connect to the groundand poer etc. And a 23 swg (22 awg) wire to connect the messiah 2 chip to the points on the ps2 motherboard. Where can you buy this cables? Many stores don't know what i'm talking about. Can I use different cables too:confused:

for ground and power it is best to use 22 awg
for data 30 and 32 awg wire is the way to go, I use 30 gauge insulated wrapping wire which is a good wire to use unless you have a v4 and below, then it becomes a bit harder to use this type of wire on the cd/dvd controller.

Thank you for replying my Topic. I think i can only get 28 awg cables. 24 is no problem but higer then 28 is getting difficult. What are the results if I use an awg 28 cable instead of the 32? Why does the manual from the official site of Messiah 2 (www.messiah2.com) say to me that I have to use a tweezer to manipulate the flat cables. Does thit means it is possible to use a 28 awg or is this because there are flat cables in the ps2. That means I can't manipulate them.

what version is the ps2 you are modding?
the tweezers are optional, you don't have to use them, although it is better to have a pair of tweezers to hold the tiny wire rather than using your bare fingers.
I never used 28 awg wire before. if you can get it in without bridging then it should work just fine. rember that the thicker the wire, the greater the chance of bridging. if you are modding a version 4 or below then I guess you have to be really good at soldering to get 28 awg wire on the cd/dvd controller.

I have a version 7 ps2. The wire is about 1mm. If I use this wire, are there no bad results? I think the wires wont fit trough a hole in the motherboard to the other side. :mad:

if it is installed properly it should work fine. remember though that thicker wire is harder to manipulate and like I said before, there is a greater chance of bridging so pay close attention to the legs on the bios chip when soldering them.
for ground and power use 22 or 24 awg wire.

How can I check if a wire is stranded and insulated? I've got a cat5 utpcable and stp cable. This is a 24awg type or isn't it?

to check if it's stranded or solid simply strip a little bit of the cable and take a look at the bare wire, if it has a bunch of little wires instead of a solid one then you got stranded, if you buy them new at the store then it should say on the label. insulated means that there is a rubber coatting all around the wire (not the bare wire exposed).
cat5 utp cable does say it's 24awg, although I never done it before so i don't know what the results are, I don't think using networking twisted pair cable is a good idea. i think you're better off buying regular solid core and insulated hookup wire, it's really not that expensive and you don't need that much.
