When I placed the game into the XBox the evox would go to init then would say no disk when there is a disk. I was able to boot the game once but then when I rebootec put the disk in the files would show but I couldn't transfer them.

Is this any form of new protection or is it just the disk. They are giving me a hard time trying to return it as they say no software is returnable after opening it.

I don't want to make a big deal of it unless I know that its not a new type of protection>

nevermind, I thought you meant a backup.

I know a real simple answer to that. Put it in an unmodded Box and see what happens!

The game did work on an unmodded XBox and I did manage to get a exchange and the new game was able to let me transfer my files??

GO figure???

Well I'm happy to hear you got it to do what you wanted but too bad you went to that much effort for a craptacular steamy turd of a game.

it seems that a few copies of SOF went out with some sort of defect that made it hard to read in a number of xboxes ( i work in video game retail) we had over half of them come back to the store with people saying it wouldn't read or it would freeze. So my assumtion is that the first batch was a mixed bag, some good a lot bad.

I can't tell you how far my jaw dropped when I seen the visuals int this game N64 anyone in fact I think Golden Eye is better. I mean come on if your going to do a port at least beef up the visuals so those who use do to lsd don't think there having a flashback to the 90's

Yeah I'm not a big fan of all those Tom Clancy type games anyway but they just suck on consoles. I like Wolfenstein, UT, and Quake a lot but they aren't much fun on console either.

When you pay $50 for a game that is hard to play on a console AND the graphics and sound suck, it REALLY blows!

...and while I'm ranting...how freaking hard is it to make a decent RPG?? With all the money MS has they act like if you don't have Final Fantasy you can't have any!!

RPGs...my favorite game genre and the one that is almost completely devoid on the xbox. It's that reason that xbox is my 2nd system, not my first

I think it's one of the biggest reasons that the older and less powerful PS2 is more popular.

Well I guess Xbox did get PSO...a year after it was on DC...and it's still nothing like FF.

If any MS developers need help making a RPG just let me know! :p I'll just copy the FF fight system like everything else does, add some cartoony jap-looking characters, a hundred billion weapon combinations, a lame good-people vs. bad-people plot, and we got a money maker.

it doesn't matter how powerful or how many polys a system can push if it lacks games. and the PS2 has'em. For all my single player experiences I'm playing my PS2, it's got my RPGs and exclusive platformers and action games that I get a big kick out of and seem to only pe put on PS2. My xbox is my multiplayer system. I got friends coming over I power on my xbox. hell I'll probably get flamed for this but I didn't find the Halo all that uber amazing in single player. It's really just a polished looking shooter, nothing that redefined the genre. As for FF, I'm not a gaintantic Sqaure head. The only real FF game I went friggin overboard was final fantasy tactics(which was the best damned RPG I've ever played).

wow, has this ever gone of topic, lol

off topic? yeah this is the Sunday afternoon B.S. session on fixing the Xbox world! :p

Yeah I liked FF tactics too. I just don't get how they seem to think that Square is the only developer who can make a good RPG. It's not that hard. I've already listed all the ingredients.

Well I do have 2 more cents for the topic though. SOF is just one of many disappointments I've seen on the Xbox and now it's been around long enough that they can't whine about the programmers not being used to it. I think there has been a whole lot of mediocre games released recently.

I rented the game today and played it on xbox live. It wasn't that good. There were only 5 people online and I kept losing to someone with the gamertag Majinvegeta or something like that. The wierd thing is that he'd only taunt when he was killing or killed me . But what can I say, the only time I ever played that game on xbox was then, im a shear newbie....

to be honest I feel like a lot of the xbox exclusive stuff been kind of medicore since system launch. I mean Halo STILL is the best game on the system hands down. It's been almost two years and that is the best microsoft has? All the multi title stuff is great but it's the exclusives that really matter. (sorry for making this off topic again but if somebody responds I'll open up a new thread to have this descussion) for example: Time splitters 2. Great game on all systems but I got it for xbox for the simple fact that the xbox has four controller ports. For xbox2 to rip the title away from Sony Microsoft is gonna need some seriously great exclusives and they need more than just Halo to get them recognized.
It was funny, the xbox store rep. came by and was like "We're happy being number two in the american market. We've got all the money and time to blow until we get it right. With xbox2 we're gonna focus more on the asian market in hopes to get better sales there." and after he said that all I kept thinking was "micorsoft Seriously needs a better marketing department if this is what they're gonna do with xbox2 cuz it's gonna be another up hill battle."
