Here's the deal. I have two xbox's 1 with the xecuter 2lite and the other with the xecuter 2.1lite

Now. my 2nd xbox, I installed the xecuter2.1 lite chip. It comes up with the same clean bios as the xecuter2 lite chip. Now, I'm using the same flashing cd I used to flash my xecuter2 lite. I'm using ozxflash to get the chip ready, and then my bio cd is the latest xecuter bios, and the size is 1024k along with a dummy file. Now, I flash the chip, i see it erasing the bios, and putting in the new bios. Now, It spits the disk out telling me it's going to shut down. It shuts down. I turn it back on, it goes back to the clean bios again!!!!!!!!!!! I've checked, and resoldered al the points. They are perfect. I know what version xbox I have. So, I have that switch on Bank1, when flashing I have it on Unprotect, And of course I have the enable switch on. I've done different things after flashing. Such as. After I flash the chip, when it powers down, I switch the knob to protect, nothing. I would leave it on unprotect when it shuts down. I turn it on, still nothing. I've been going friggin crazy for 5 days!!!!!!! So far, THIS CHIP SUCKS!!!!!!!
Please tell me what is going on, I don't know what to do :( :(

infidel80**********com Thanks so much for any help and info

Dude I got no clue as to what's going on with your chip...but that's why I got the programmer in case something bad DID happen....

I am about to embark on flashing my friends XBox that I am about to install tomorrow. However I am going to use the hot swap method for a couple of reasons. 1) everything worked fine on the first one proper bios works fine. 2) Alot easier

I will let you know how it goes, it can be frustrating but the final results are well worth it

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Well it sounds like the chip is working for the most part if its booting that dreadful cornwall BIOS.

You could try hotswapping it with your X2 lite and flash it from EvoX. If that doesn’t work you know you have a prob.

Take EXTREME care in doing a hot swap. Your XBox is running and can easily short it if you screw up, so be careful. I my self would not do it. I would spend $25 and buy the programmer vs $200 for a new XBox.

I've actually heard A LOT of people are having this problem. I honestly have no clue what to do myself and I don't have another chip to hot swap it. I have a feeling that most people probably didn't click finalize on the cd-rws (I forgot as well and I feel REALLY bad for a friend of mine who's about to try the whole oz-flash method) I'm gonna e-mail team xecueter and see what they have to say cuz it's a serious stiuation that needs to be addressed.

Hey, RMS: Can you take the Linux bios off the X2 chip with the programmer?

Hmm, I just did some reading and your right other people are having probs as well. But at least you got the XBox to boot unlike some people who just have their Xboxes frag out.

An way… You don’t really take it off, you just over right it.
You can get the programmer from The Console Corner (http://www.the-console-corner.com/index.htm) for $23 + S&H.

Alright so you can over write the linux with the programmer right? I got the programmer in case of emergencies....and it seems like a good thing too.

Yep, just rewrite the new BIOS with the programmer and your all done.

Check this out: Using The X2lite Programmer (x2cable/xp Method) (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?act=ST&f=3&t=63396&)
This is over at XBox-Scene, shows you how it all works and how to flash the chip.

God RMS,

you're a serious life saver. I read somewhere that you couldn't flash the chip with the linux bios and I was worried that me and my friends just blew almost 200 bucks down the drain. That would be the last damned thing I need after my girlfriend drops a 300 dollar credit card bill on my lap.

Where did you read that? I bet the guy didn't know WTF he was talking about.

someplace on the xecueter boards. I figured it was crap but with all the problems going on with chip flashing I was worried that it might have been true. I mean, I had no problem dishing out the extra 25 bucks for the x2 lite programmer, and as I said I got it for emergency purposes. YOU never can tell what can happen! So that's why I grabbed it when I could.

Ya thats my thinking to. Just do as that guide says and you should have the X2.1 lite going in no time.

awesome, I can't friggin wait! I'm actually not gonna solder the chip this time (my friend used to solder processors to motherboards for this firm all the time so he's REALLY used to soldering points the size of a pinhead and not screwing it up) He's doing his xbox over the weekend as a test run and he's actually gonna have to flash the chip himself (sent him the tutorial).
