I was so sure after reading about the hot swap I would not have to many difficulties with this chip but now I am not so sure. There is two parts the chip and another with the switches. I am trying to find out where I can find a visual diagram on how this is hooked up. First is it necessary to have it, I assume it is but want to ask anyway there will be no using live and I just want to back up my own games. Other than that I can do the rest, but I can't find a link with some pics of the "New" X2 lite I would appreciate your help!

::nods:: I know of the part cuz I got the new x2. It's actually not really neccessary honestly. It plugs into the chip via one of the wires it comes with (should look like four or five black wires with two white plug-in ports on each end.) That's so you can put the switch on the outside of the case by slipping it thru the side of the box.
All the switchs do is have the ability to flash protect the chip, shut off the chip, or switch which bios it has running one it (actually that last one is more of a guess since the switch says bank1 and bank 2). Hopefully that has answered your question. And I was looking for new diagrams as well, but no such luck.

CORRECTION: You DO need that switch part.....I found out on teamxecter forums. Also somebody put up how to put that part in your xbox. Take a look there.

Ok I couldn't find any links to any pics of the new install method, where is the best place to run the switch out of? Is it ok just to close the lid over it? And thanks for the reply

From what I remember (worked all damn day) they put the part underneath where the controller ports. they had to remove the face plate on the xbox and a whole bunch of stuff. It's best to check there. It was either under the x2 lite2.1 forum or the newbie forum. sorry I can't be more specific.
