Now I know I'm not an idiot and I did this once before but now I can't do this right....

A friend of mine wants to put EvoX on his xbox. I said I'd gladly help him. Now I grabbed my stack of CD-rws and burned evoX 3249 to a cd-rw...yet for some reason it won't read. Now I went through the whole thing using evox for dummies guide and still no go. I've never been more confused as to why it doesn't work.

As for programs I used xiso to make said ISO and burned it with nero using the lowest speed setting (2x) If anybody can help me figure out where I went wrong it would be really great.

Also the CD-RWs weren't formatted yet, I just burned them like regular media. Would this have an effect?

I have never formatted a cd-rw before I use it and never had a problem. If you are 100% sure that your evox disc is ok then I would suspect the flash on the chip.

Does it work on your xbox and no his, or just not his?

I suggest you use the data burn method. If you don't have the right software, then at least use another ISO creation tool. xISO has been known to make bad iso images. Also, you might need to add in a dummy file to get it to work. Some xbox's DVD roms are sensitive.

I got EvoX on my box already so I'm not sure how to test it with mine? Alos does the data burn method actually work well cuz I everywhere I read it said burn as an ISO. Also for Iso amking how is craxtion? I'm actually started to get a little worried cuz I have my new x2 lite on the way and if I can't put evoX on my new box I'm kind of crap out of luck. and as for the dummy files...added one still no go. it was about 100mb that I named "emptyspace.zip"

I've heard that craxton is one of the best ones around, so I'd choose that if I were you. Also, the databurn works with just about anything.

okay then I'll give the data burn method a try. I'll see if it works and I'm really hoping so.....With my new chip coming I don't want to lose my ability to back up my games. (especially since my little bro turned my midnight club II into a drink coaster with a fork eariler). It would be a nightmare with evox. Anyway I'll post results here tommorow

I know some people use CDRW but my Box doesn't seem to like em. I just spend the whole extra $.40 and use a DVD and it always works. I'd double check the mod is working too.

Yes, make sure you format those CDs!!

And when you do, tell me how you did it since "formatting" is a magnetic process and CDs use an optical one! :p :D

what I meant by formatting them was to make them computer compatible...I never did well with CD-RW media. As for using dvds I really don't got the money to spend (unless anybody got a place that sells dvd-rs cheap, that would be a god send) and I'm down to my last 22. if it doens;t work then I don;t want to have wasted what little dvd-rs I have left.

ALRIGHT! I made and EvoX disc out of a cd-rw and placed it in my system....it loaded and to make sure it wasn't mine I loaded thid disc with a different bios folder and the bios on the folder were evoX d6 eject fix and when I was on EvoX I checked the bios on the disc and it was that bios.....Now does this mean that I burned the evoX disc correctly? I need to know so that way I know if it's right and I'm on the right track.

tested the new disc and discovered it was a bad ISO made by xiso....that program needs to seriously be taken off of any and all tool listings cuz it's really horrible.
