What would be the difference betwwen using the 1meg bios over the 256? Are there really any differrences?

my understanding is that in the future it is possible that the newer bios's will be larger. therefore you would need a larger bios memory.

right now the newest bios will fit into 256K, but if the next new bios is larger then you will need a 512K or a 1M and so on.

meaning that it is better to have a X2Pro rather than a X2Lite.

Don't they already have 1meg bios out already? that is what I am asking is if they offer anything better

Yes but most people split them down to 256K. Now depending on how your going to flash your chip, you may need to 1mg or a 256k BIOS. Like if you were going to flash your X2Lite using the Ozxchip Method you would need a 1mg, but from EvoX you only need a 256k BIOS.

Now I really don't think we will be seeing any BIOS over 256k for a while, this would only be needed if Microsoft decides to go nuts trying to keep people from modding their XBoxes.
