Everything I have tried has led me to believe that CIV III has Safedisc 2 protection. I have read many posts as to how a SD2 copy can be made... though i have coastered 4 cds... (dont care bout CDs).
My equip is kinda out dated... HP Surestore 8110i Plus Cd-Writer (4x2x32) and a no name ATAPI CD-ROM.
I'm thinking of picking up a Lite-On 16x10x40 because it has the Seamless-Link technology and Read RAW 96. and can suposevly handle SAFEDISC 2.
I'm also wanting to pick up a CD-ROm Drive that can also READ RAW 96. Possibly a Plextor... but i will take anything that can read it.
--Raw 96 is where the Digital ID is writen for SD2. Most things can read or write RAW 16, which is where things like CD-TEXT and stuff is stored.--
I have successfully decrypted the EXE file for Civ III off the CD, but really dont want to decrypt the EXE in future installations.. I perfer to use backs as so the game itself does not get damaged.
can anyone make some suggestions on Both the Equipment or the Civ III operation?
