1.do u need a modchip/swap cd to play backups?
2.can u rip the game off the psx onto the pc, to play on an emulator?

1: Yes. Although I remember many moons ago you could get the Playstation to boot Imports and backups using the 'Ball Point Pen' Trick.
2: Yes.
