I have a 10Mbps Ethernet Hub, i've tried connecting with a crossover cable directly from my PC's NIC into the Xbox. And tried 2 straight cables, one from the NIC to the HUB, then the other from HUB to Xbox.

This message is displayed each time i try and connect.

Connecting to 192.168.0.157

Has anyone got any ideas to what the problem might be.

Out of curiosity, do the cables have to be a certain length?

Thanks:)

You also mite wants set the IP address of your computer.
I my self done trust Windows enough to obtain IP address automatically, all my systems I set the IP address to what I want.

Does the IP of my PC have to be the same as the Default Gateway on EvoX. When i boot the EvoX CD the Gateway is set to 192.168.0.1.

I changed the password to Chris via the EvoX ini file. Would that have something to do with my problem. Also. my OS is XP Pro. Do i need to change anything.

Thanks :D

I believe you have to turn off your firewall or configure it.

If you have a firewall on, it is ussually shown in the bottem right corner of your screen, next to the clock/sound control. I use zone alarms, so it shows a small picture of it there. To turn it off, I just right click on it and hit "shutdown Zone Alarms Pro". I have no idea which one your running (if one at all), so it might be different.

LMAO:)

After all my troubles trying to connect to the Xbox via FlashFXP, Zonealarm was the cause.

Thanks a lot Quall999:D

I feel like a complete jerk now, lol....!
