Looking to buy a DVD-writer.

I use www.pricewatch.com as a serch engine to find the best stuff. When looking at the Pioneer A05 a lot of the sites came back and said it was similer to the Toshiba, with the toshiba being $50 cheaper.

two questions:

1st Any real difference between the toshiba and the Pioneer?, or anybody think something else is better for the same or less money?

2nd question. I need a new CD-burner, for another machine. I use CDClone, and need to mostly backup my games.

1. The Pioneer is a known winner and loved by everybody on this forum who has one. I will always turn to Pioneer first if I'm looking for a new dvd burner. If you are looking to save some money check out the Cendyne. It is even cheaper than the Toshiba. It is basically a clone of the Pioneer. It is even recognized as a Pioneer when installed.
Sorry forgot #2.
2. Get a Lite-On or LG. Cheap and work great.

Staples have the Cendyne (which is Rebadged Pioneer DVD105) on sale this week for $199 (after $50 Instant Rebate and $50 Mail-In Rebate). I purchased this drive several weeks from OfficeMax and so far I don't have any problem. I'm using RecordNowMax 4.5 for backing-up PS2 games. Hope this help
