mad a great idea of creating a bible where all the newbies as well as the old tymers can look at and add new things to everythime it comes out. i know that other type of infomation warriors do it all the time.
i think each person or a set group of regulars should take a section and write it then place them all together
what do you guys think
The problem with this is that everyone has different opinions, favourite media, favourite burning software etc. PS2 isn't an exact subject and therefore you always risk giving advice that while totally relevant to a particular PS2 version might be totally inappropriate for someone else. It has to be totally regulated by one or a group of people that can cover every angle of every version of PS2 which is basically what this forum does. The only problem is that no-one can be bothered to read the threads and instead ask the same old questions time after time rather than having a look and answering their own question.
I mean is there anything that a newbie would ask that isn't covered in a sticky or thread on this forum already. Perhaps what really needs to be done is some minor education when someone joins to search the forum rather than ask a question that has already been answered ten times.
what u thinx??
actually, this could be made quite easier then we think, might take a little while though.
If people started to goto the irc channel and talk and ask questions, we could basically sift through logs, make a quick FAQ in a txt file and exand upon it via many sources and personal inputs. Given a good ammount of time, this could be accomplished and easily transfered as the filesize would remain quite small.

The forum would have to be adjusted so you couldn't post a thread until you downloaded the guide! It wouldn't work otherwise, peeps would just come in & ask the questions (as I did lol).
At least then if somebody posted a question covered we could just reply by saying "refer to page 7 of the guide"
Don't make me download it tho, I have 20 gig of crap on my hdd already:D
I made a similiar suggestion a long time back regarding forum rules. When registering, you should be given the list of forum rules, on the following page you are to be given a quiz on the rules that you just read. Registration can not be completed until you score 100%
