There are 2 sorts of DVD writing modes: DVD- and DVD+

Can anyone give me the difference? Most writers are capable of writing both, but what type is best for backing up your games?

"The Difference Between DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW
The DVD+R and DVD+RW recorders use a recording format which differs from the DVD Forum standards, to which DVD-R and DVD-RW complies. However, the recorded DVD+ discs can be read by multi-read DVD-ROM drives and will play on DVD player sets.
The DVD+RW discs use the same phase-shift material method of writing and erasing as all other rewritable media. Test show the DVD+RW media to be slightly less compatible with DVD Video player sets than DVD-RW discs, however.

The DVD+R discs are compatible with more DVD players than the DVD-R discs. The DVD+R discs appear to play in every DVD player, as reports of them not playing in any player have not been seen as yet. "

Yah, but I'm not sure if dvd+r works well on xbox, cus I don't have any. DVD-r should work just as well, which one you want to get depends on what your willing to pay.
