I've noticed on my Apple-Modded v7, it has issues booting PSX backups that have audio tracks as well ( Haven't tested originals ).
Was wondering if this has to do with the "incompatible" PSX games. I remember there being a list of PSX games that just don't work with PS2. Anyone have that list?
Thanks.
Arcade Party Pak
Arcade's Greatest Hits/Atari 2
Fighter Maker
Final Fantasy Anthology
Judge Dredd
Monkey Hero
Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Tomba
There might be more too. These were taken off the Sony website.
I used to get the same problem. Sometimes it's just due to what mode the chip is in. I have to do a double reset on my messiah modded ps2 to get ps1 backups to load and as far as I knew a double reset turns the chip off??? try loading the ps1 backup using no resets, then one reset and then a double reset. One of them should work. There are quite a few ps1 games that when backed up dont work. I got Tomb raider 3 original which works okay on ps2 but backup won't work. The backup works fine on a ps1 though which makes it even more confusing. You can get a lot of ps1 games that don't work normally to work by using the bonus ps1 codes disc that you get with action replay 2. Boot the codes disk up, select start game on any game, select without codes then swap the cd's. Theres no need to time when you press controller button. This seems to work well especially on home brew/compilation ps1 cd's.
Out of the 300 odd ps1 games i have theres only two i can;t get to work. Tomb raider 3 and a home brew compilation called ten in one.
Good luck...................Regards
Have just read on this forum about booting ps1 cds on an apple modded ps2 and it says that if your ps1 disc is recognised as an audio disc then you havent held the reset button in for long enough. Try reading the sticky on boot proceedures for all mod chips at the top of PS2 forum page 1.
Good Luck.....Let us know how you get on..........................:p
