FTP with a router

I am trying to connect with my xbox using FTP, but i cannot get it to connect to the xbox's IP address. I know what the IP address is, but it keeps saying connection timed out. I can see activity with the IP through the router setup screen when i connect to xbox live. Is there something i'm missing, that would make it not connect to the XBOX with FTP? Thanks for any help.

What are your ip settings as far as the xbox goes? That may be yur problem.

Try to ping your Xbox from the Dos console. You can try to reset the router. Also for me I was having problem connection with CuteFTP, WS_FTP and FlashFxp work fine. What FTP program are you using?

I've had problems connecting. make sure the password and user name is correct. Also, some firewalls don't allow you to connect. I have Zone Alarms, and I had to turn it off when I connected (eventually, I configured it).
