Hi guys,
Maybe one of the pro's can cast one on this......yet again, i am not a fan of the no solder mods, just determined to get this to work.
All games are straight 1:1 and work fine in ver 5messiah, and even ver4 neo2.2
To cut it short here's the story,

here's the set up for this particular problem
1)v7pal ps2
2)No solder mod
3)Magic 2 swap discs
4)Action Replay 2ver 2.22
5)Action Replay 2ver 2.02

Ok, As we are all aware certain dvdr's do not work with the magic swap 2 (Namely proevo2, britney spears, prisoner of war)

So I used the action replay 2 ver 2.22> which after research is not compatible with dvdr's. I've tried all methods possible including nightstalkers.

Took a trip to local game shop and managed to pick up ver 2.02 (gta3 box) which to my knowledge is fine at booting dvdr's.

Same problem, however ALL dvdr's don't work using ANY method on EITHER action replay 2.

So here's the question......> Does the pal ver7 ps2 have some clever kind of protection when using the action replays???

Any help will be appreciated.

Insert the Ar2 v2x and reflash the dongle by restarting the console while holding L1, L2, R1, R2 and start. Then restart the AR2.
1. Allow the AR2 to completely load then create a new entry in the code list and call this game code "DVD-R"
2. create an empty code entry in this "DVD-R" game code and call this entry "dummy-code"
3. Boot the ps2 with the AR2, then swap (just regular eject) the AR2 disc with a DVD original larger then the DVDR you trying to boot and wait 20 sec.
4. chose AR codes from the main menu and turn on or off this "dummy-code" before you start the game .
5. chose start game-with codes and press X then it says updating code list and in this exact time press the eject for 2 sec for open the tray with the r-mod chip and swap the original DVD with the DVD-r.
Good luck, This was posted awhile back by Nightstalker, Be sure the TOC of the original dvd game is higher than backup. Hope this helps.
I posted this because it is a little different than the method posted in BG's factoid.

Hi guys, Tried the method above (Along with all others on the net) and it simply doesn't work on my current setup.....which is purely to test this mod out.)

Pal V7
No soldermod
Magic swap 2.0 disks
Action replay 2.20
Action replay 2.02(for booting games not compatible with magic swap 2.0)

Now the action replay 2.02 is used for a ver4 neo2.2 and works fine doing the double swap method. I know the 2.20 doesn't support this so lets forget about that!

All methods simply don't work. So now i'm positive the version 7 pal ps2 has some fancy ass protection (As dust2dust suggested).

The same setup in a version 6 works 100%

Interesting!

Anyother ideas?

LOL! :p
Anyway, If anyone has any luck with a version 7 with no solder booting through action replay please let me know........Unless somebody can think of a fancy ass method of doing it!
