New to all the playstation stuff etc......

Do you need to still get your playstation chipped etc before you can play copies of games on it or do the patches take care of this.

Yes, you still need to get your PSX modded/chipped in order to play backups of your original games. Patches are used for other things such as PAL/NTSC region selections for example.

As you mentioned the word "new", check out www.psxcopyworld.co.uk for a raft of information to make you feel not like a newbie :)
