I need some help with solving the next problem:

I modified my PS2 with the Ripper-mod chip.
I have a European V7 PS2 (3900X). PS2 backups and originals work just fine, but the only thing that doesn't work are the PS1 games.
Original and backups won't boot.
I checked all the wires a thousend time:( and couldn't find any faulty one. I checked them with a meter to make sure there could be no broken wire. Especcially the ones for PS1 (SCEX and RESET) i read in the factoids.

Please help what could be wrong or should the dvd trick with a 1 uF capacitor also work here?

When i press the reset for > 3 seconds (just like for DVD-Boot) the PS1 discs are seen as a audio cd

Thanks for any help or suggestion.

Try this and see if it works. (Although you shouldn't have to do this for Originals, UNLESS they are IMPORT originals...)

PS2 backups (CD & DVD)
• Insert game and close tray
• Press reset

PS1 Backups
• Insert game and close tray
• Press reset twice

DVD Films
• Insert game and close tray
• Press reset twice

NOTE: In rare situations there is alternative way to start DVD VIDEO. When RESET light is RED, press RESET and keep it pressed until the BLUE light of the EJECT button goes on.

Thanks for reply
I already tried these options and the PS1 always are seen as a audio CD, or the PS2 comes up in PS2 mode:(.
It looks like the ripper is doing halve it's work, because it works perfect with PS2 backups. I checked the reset wire, but it looks like the ripper wont go in PS1 mode.

Thanks for the info sofar.

PS Any other experience with these modchip ?
