Hi All.

Having some trouble trying to backup Fellowship of the Ring by Vivendi. Install disc works fine, but play disc has issues.

If anyone can give me a prod in the right direction here, I'd really appreciate it.

Also, how do you tell what kind of protection is being used? Is there an analyser app, or any way of recognising the protection in the filesystem?

Clony XXL (http://www.kickme.to/Englishclony) will identify the protection and give the correct settings for Clone CD.

However, I think the game has Securom New (very new) which cannot be copied as of yet. Your only option is to download a crack from GCW or Megagames or elsewhere.

Actually on that CD, Clony won't detect the protection. it just comes back with "unknown protection" even after a complete disc scan of all sectors.

Lord of the Rings is protected with Securom v4 but I don't know what point release because I can't tell. I do know though that I could not copy it trying the methods I usually use with CloneCD.

Securom V4.8 cannot be copied as of now. You can however make a working image with the latest Alcohol.
