G'day, all!

I just stumbled upon this website selling a Messiah chip, and it said there's an additional function, which says,

"PSX GAMES..........................................Scr een size corrected for both NTSC / PAL Consoles when playing import titles."

If I'm guessing this right, then the screens for non-messiahs should be wonky when you run pal games on the machine. But this isn't so, since my friend's ps 2 machine works perfectly playing pal games on his US machine, and he told me his wasn't a Messiah mod when I asked him later. Or is it only the problem for playstation one games???

I'm planning to buy a premod ps 2 soon, but if this is true - about non-messiah chips wonking up pal playstation one games - then I might have to insist in getting a messiah-mod for my ps 2 from the shop, and not any other chip.

Any opinions on this?

Does your friend have a multi-system TV?

Hi, Charlie!

Yes, my friend does have a multi system tv.

But after doing some "research" last night, I found that the problem does exist!!!

I called up some other friends who I know chipped their ps 2's themselves, and asked them about it. Most of them didn't have a Messiah, and when they played pal imports on there ntsc machines, or vice versa, the display would get "squeezed" (whatever that means). But this is only for playstation one games.

It also seems that the messiah is more expensive than other chips, so I wonder if this worth the buy for the "additional function". Or should I just keep my old ps 1 to play older games?

Also, which is the best ps 2 version I should get?

In My Opinion the Messiah is definately worth a little extra money... GO FOR IT......
As far as which version....Get a V5 or higher.....
