Hi,
I have just upgraded to a Plex16/10/40A from a Philips 460RW, removing the
Cequadrat Write2CD & PacketCD in the process - or at least I thought I
had!!!
On installing Nero 5.0.4.4. I had no problems, but when trying to install
the InCD packet writing software it tells me I still have PacketCD
installed.
As there was no uninstaller, I removed it by using Add/Rem Progs in Control
Panel & then deleted the relative folders.
The Cequadrat site gives the following info:
1) Delete the PacketCD directory.- already done
2) Delete the files c2udffs.vxd, c2udfvsd.vxd, udf_200.vxd, udf_920.vxd and
udf_jvc.vxd from the directory windows\system\iosubsys. - already gone
3) Delete all entries with PacketCD and UDF from the Windows Registry.
Can anyone tell me exactly which entries to delete as I don't want to do any
damage! I have dabbled with the Registry but not much!
Perhaps someone would be kind enough to walk me through it?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks, Kagey35

You are right about the registry - it is a nasty beast at the best of times!

Now I don't really know the correct procedure to get you out of this fix, but you could try a utility program such as Norton or Nuts' n' Bolts. These programs scan the registry and find stuff that's no longer needed etc etc, but they don't always get it 100% right. However they have some pretty decent registry editors..

I think you are right in tracing references to the files outlined in the registry and deleteing them, or literally deleting everything every refernce to the software that was allegedly un-installed.

Alternatively, what about a complete re-installation of Windows? You can install Windows without re-formatting the drive.

Sorry I can't help ya out more.
