are there translation patches for psx?

I own a FF6, are there any patches like the snes that can be made to a back up of it.

I already backed it up once.

Can i make another one?
Can a back up game be used to make a back up too? Originals all scatched. So i might waste more cd.

Yes u can make a copy of a copy just copy it just like you would a original.
